RARELY seen art treasures have gone on display in Sheffield for the first time in 15 years.
The Ruskin Collection at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery highlights work gathered by Victorian artist and scholar John Ruskin.
Following a revamp, Museum Sheffield is able to regularly share new pieces from the art and artefact collection.
New objects in the summer display include four hand-coloured ornithological engravings from the 1800s by John James Audubon as well as an original German Froschauer Bible from 1540, famed for its beautiful illustrations.
Collection curator Louise Pullen said: “We’re delighted that the new displays give us the chance to regularly share more and more of these wonderful objects.”
