A CHARITY set up in memory of a TV prankster is helping a student pursue her studies.
The Rotherham-based Jeremy Beadle Morthyng Memorial Trust has awarded a £1,000 bursary to undergraduate Lizzie Carr, 18, from Kimberworth.
The cash was donated to help the teen as she prepares to study for a degree in biomedical sciences at Sheffield Hallam University.
Ann Lawrence, chair of trustees at the Trust, said: “I am delighted that through previous fundraising events, in memory of and in recognition of the educational legacy of Jeremy Beadle, we are now in a position to start dispensing grants. This latest award to Elizabeth will assist her with books, stationery and essentials.”
Lizzie said: “This will be a fantastic kickstart to my degree course.”
