Bikers fighting for life after smash in Barnsley

Two people are fighting for life today after the motorbike they were riding was in a crash with a car in Barnsley.

Police say a black Pulse XF125 motorbike and a white Toyota Corolla were involved in the crash on the A628 Collier Road, at the junction with Engine Lane, Shafton, at around 7.50pm yesterday.

The man riding the motorbike suffered life-threatening injuries, as did a 35-year-old woman who was a pillion passenger on the bike.

Both are from the Pontefract area of West Yorkshire and remain in hospital.

The man driving the Toyota was not injured.
