Steelers, without injury victims Colton Fretter and Yared Hagos almost sneaked one back from John Armstrong, and avoided conceding again in the first period.

The big import centreman got on the scoresheet at 22;54, though.

He completed a fine passing move featuring Rod Sarich and Luke Ferrara to equalise.

Other efforts from Ferrara and Guillaume Desbiens had his blood pressure rising too.

Dowd has scored in the previous two matches and it was the GB winger who wrist shot past Zajkowski for 2-1 at 38:30.

And the same man made it 3-1 to finish off work from his linemates Levi Nelson, Andreas Valdix at 41:18.

It seemed like the Teessider was in unstoppable form.

Sheffield, who have only five Elite League matches left, including Sunday’s home match with Cardiff Devils, conceded again though.

With Armstrong in the penalty box, Keith scored his second of the night, from Della Rovere and Alex Leavitt at 53:46.
