BREAKING: Body found in Sheffield during search for missing pensioner Barry Jones

Officers searching the Woodhouse Mill area have found the body of an elderly man at around 1pm today.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, South Yorkshire Police say it is believed to be missing pensioner Barry Jones, aged 77, from Aston.

Mr Jones’ family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Mr Jones was reported missing on February 28 at around 3.50pm. He left his home in Aston that morning at around 10.20am.

He was last seen getting off a bus opposite the Princess Royal pub.
