Raiders tried to break in through a rear door at the Crosspool Tavern in Manchester Road, Crosspool at about 2.30am this morning.

But police said they failed to get in and fled the scene empty handed.

Two men also tried to get into a shed behind a home in Warwick Terrace, Walkley, just after midnight on Sunday, August 26.

However, they fled empty handed as the property owner caught them in the act.

Elsewhere, thieves stole a laptop and sunglasses from the passenger side footwell of a vehicle parked in School Road, Crookes.

The incident happened sometime between Friday, August 24, and the early hours of this morning.
