Barber Harrison & Platt (BHP) Chartered Accountants has again listed as one of the Top 40 firms of charity auditors in the UK according to Charity Finance magazine’s annual review.

The survey is based on data from 1,074 charities with collective annual income of £19.3bn and audit fees of £21.5m.

The firm entered at number 32, four places above last year, and is the only local independent firm on the list.

100% of clients who responded awarded BHP the highest category for charity expertise.

Jane Marshall, pictured, Head of the Charities and Not for Profit team at BHP, said: “I am delighted our specialist team have been recognised for their audit work within the charity sector.

“We pride ourselves on taking the time to get to know our clients so we can give them the best possible advice.

“We act for a large number of charities some of whom have been clients for many years and our experience of working with them has enabled us to pass on our expertise to new clients in the same field.

“This survey and the feedback received is proof that we understand the challenges facing the sector.”
