Imagine the pride - on the 4th of July a very select group of companies and individuals will be unveiled as the best in Sheffield City Region.
The Business - Johnston Press’ new bi-monthly magazine - is proud to host a new awards contest which will crown a new elite.
Competitors have been drawn from an exclusive club: winners in each of the four Chamber awards, plus The Star’s business awards competition 2012.
And on July 4 a winner in each of 13 categories will be revealed.
The big night, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, will see more than 600 people enjoy an evening of suspense and success.
It will also offer a rare chance to network, make friends and mingle in a room packed with business leaders from across the region. Companies attending include RBS, Hill Dickinson and Grant Thornton.
Host is the BBC’s Look North newsreader, Clare Frisby, and the speaker is Sir Howard Davies, a regular at the world economic forum in Davos.
Sir Howard’s impressive CV includes: director of the London School of Economics, director-general of the Confederation of British Industry, controller of the Audit Commission, deputy governor of the Bank of England - where he set up the Financial Services Authority - and positions in the Foreign Office and HM Treasury.
The judges are Master Cutler Neil MacDonald, Chris Scholey, LEP board member and former boss of Rexam glass, Lloyd Snellgrove, director of the research and innovation office at Sheffield Hallam University and Andrew Cropley, executive director for strategic planning and business development at headline sponsors The Sheffield College.
