Special bus services will run in Sheffield on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day – for a festive fare of just £1 per journey.
The First and Stagecoach services, run as part of Sheffield Bus Partnership and funded by the Sheffield Council, will operate on most key routes between 8am and 5.30pm.
It will be the sixth year the council has funded the special services.
Revised bus timetables will operate in the city from Christmas Eve until Thursday January 2.
In many cases services on weekdays will follow their usual Saturday timetables.
Tram and train services will also run to revised timetables over the holidays.
Supertram will operate the Yellow route between Middlewood and Meadowhall, and a special festive Blue route service from Halfway to Meadowhall via Cathedral in Sheffield, on Boxing Day between 6.30am and 6.50pm and on New Year’s Day between 8.50am and 5.15pm.
Those travelling by train should check with Network Rail or their operating company for any planned engineering works or local disruptions.
Coun Leigh Bramall, of Sheffield Council, said: “We hope people will use the special services and take advantage of the reduced fares to help spread the seasonal spirit.”
