Sheffield tech giant Plusnet has sponsored two City Region Business Awards to champion firms who achieve success by investing in staff - just like it does.
The internet service provider is sponsoring the People Development Award and the SME Business of the Year Award.
The fourth City Region Business Awards will be on July 7 at Magna.
It takes the victors from four chamber business awards – Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley, and East Midlands – plus the Derbyshire Times business awards – and pits them head-to-head to discover the ‘first among winners’.
A total of 51 finalists in 13 categories are up for glory.
Chief executive Andy Baker explained why the contest was important to Plusnet.
He said: “Plusnet started as a small business and through the development of our staff and the focus we have placed on people we have been able to grow to where we are today.
“Our category sponsorships resonate with our company’s beginnings and core values.
“We’re really proud to show our support for the awards and are excited to see who will triumph on the night.”
Investment star and media commentator Justin Urquhart Stewart will be host and Sir Nigel Knowles, head of the Local Enterprise Partnership and former global co-chair of law firm DLA Piper, will be headline speaker at the event.
Learning Unlimited is associate sponsor.
