A Scandinavian furniture giant has chosen South Yorkshire as the location for its latest UK store after being attracted by the town’s ‘smaller, but busier retail environment’.
Home furnishing retailer JYSK has opened its new store in the Frenchgate Shopping Centre, Doncaster, after the South Yorkshire town became an area of ‘particular interest’ to the company.
The new store will offer customers a range of purchase options starting with the basic online purchase, in-store click and collect, buy-in-store and home delivery.
Karen Staniforth, marketing manager for the Frenchgate Centre, said: “Doncaster is an excellent platform for JYSK to springboard themselves ahead of the competition within South Yorkshire, while bringing four new jobs to our town, too.
“The area was earmarked as an area of particular interest to JYSK, mainly due to the e-commerce success of its website within Doncaster.
“This coupled with the popularity of Frenchgate within the community makes for a promising synergyl.
“We are very proud a global furniture giant such as JYSK has chosen our shopping centre to be home to its new store.“
Founded in Aarhus, Denmark by Lars Larsen in 1979, JYSK has 2,200 stores.
Steve Stenhouse, UK country manager for JYSK, added: “The Frenchgate store represents an exciting development for JYSK where we will increase exposure of our brand and put our best-selling garden products to the test in a smaller, but busier retail environment.”
