Lawyers mixing it for charity

After-work cocktails are renowned for causing headaches.

But Sheffield law firm Bhayani Bracewell are hoping theirs help a good cause – the Master Cutlers Challenge 2014.

Led by Jay Bhayani, partner and head of the niche HR and employment team, staff will be staging a fund-raising cocktail-making session at their offices in the Fountain Precinct at 5pm on Friday, May 16. Jay said: “We don’t bake, we don’t jump off tall buildings – but we make a mean cocktail.”

Commercial property lawyer Vicky Woodhouse will be cocktail mistress and kick off the night with her Property Punch. Other lawyers are lined up to make their own specialities, including family lawyer Rosie Finn’s Consciously Uncoupled and dispute resolution specialist Kieron Holmshaw’s Singapore Arm In A Sling. Tickets are £15.

In July the lawyers will be staging a mock tribunal. “Come along and observe at first hand the practicalities of a tribunal hearing and learn how to state your case,” said Jay.
