SHOPPERS at Sheffield’s John Lewis store saw Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg drop in to promote the employee-owned partnership’s way of doing business.
The Liberal Democrat MP for Sheffield Hallam joined staff, known as ‘partners’ at the store, to talk about their experience of working within an employee-owned firm.
Last month, Mr Clegg announced plans to support more British businesses become employee-owned.
He said: “It’s clear from those benefiting from working in an employee-owned business that sharing ownership means sharing success.”
James Prince, John Lewis Sheffield managing director, said: “We were delighted to give Mr Clegg a behind-the-scenes insight.”
