Owlerton Greyhound Stadium worker Matt Hamilton has climbed the career ladder to become assistant general manager.
The 30-year-old, of Hillsborough, has worked at the venue for 12 years and started as a steward on race nights before becoming the steward supervisor and progressing to be responsible for overall management of the entire safety aspect as the stadium safety officer.
In his new role he will now be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue.
Matt, who lives with his wife and three children, said: “When the opportunity for assistant general manager came up it seems like a natural progression for me and I felt ready to take the next step.
“I have spent a number of years being involved across all departments working on the health and safety side of the business so I already know what is involved in the day-to-day running of the stadium, which puts me in a strong position to hit the ground running.
“It’s a really interesting place to work as no day is ever the same and it’s a great team here. I also feel it gives me a great work life balance so I get the best of both worlds.”
