Peak businesses praised for their green touches

A WOMAN who gives guided walks, a Grindleford furniture business and Haddon Hall and are among 14 Peak District businesses highlighted for their green credentials.

Sally Mosley, who is based in Over Haddon and has been offering guided walks for 20 years, is one of the recipients of the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark.

Awards were presented at Haddon Hall, the historic house and visitor attraction, near Bakewell, which was also a winner.

Others honoured for their work to safeguard the local environment and heritage included Andrew Lawton Furniture in Grindleford, April Cottage in Youlgreave, Bolehill Farm Holiday Cottages, near Bakewell, Coconut Blush in Buxton, wood turning at Christmas Cottage in Youlgreave and Shatton Hall Farm in Bamford.

For the first time, two businesses were presented with special awards for their outstanding contribution to the scheme – Eco Eco homewear shop in Hope and High Nightam Farm, near Chinley. The scheme is run by the Peak District National Park Authority with East Midlands Development Agency, Natural England and the Derbyshire Economic Partnership.
