Industrial action by train conductors in Sheffield has been cancelled.

First TransPennine Express conductors based in Sheffield and Cleethorpes have called off industrial action, according to the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union.

The dispute with the train operator was over the dismissal of a conductor.

The dispute started when the conductor was dismissed after a train-surfing incident at Cleethorpes station.

The RMT said all local protests were over.

Three 24-hour strikes had been held.
