Second care home appears on horizon

Up to a hundred full and part time jobs could be created by a new, £5 million care home which has opened in Dinnington, thanks to funding by the Co-operative Bank.

The 78 bedroom Waterside Grange nursing and residential home is the second to be opened in South Yorkshire by family-run Horizon Care since 2010.

Co-operative Bank’s Steve Clarke said the bank had a long standing relationship with the Higginbottom family, which runs the home and was “extremely supportive of the expansion of their care home facilities across South Yorkshire.”

Horizon Care’s managing director, Laura Higginbottom, said: “My family decided to invest in care homes when, sadly, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and we struggled to find a care home that we would be happy for her to spend his later years in. Now we have two care homes that we hope clients and their families will be happy to come and live in.

“We would like to thank The Co-operative Bank as an organisation and Steve Clarke in particular for their ongoing support of our plans and the expert advice that they offer.”
