Letters are going out today (Friday) to stallholders who have been successful in getting a place in the new Moor market.
There were enough applications to fill the complex, due to open in November, one-and-a-half times.
Council leader Julie Dore said: “The interest shown in the new market has been fantastic and the selection process has been very difficult. We’ve tried our best to accommodate each successful trader where they want to be in the new market and at times it’s been like putting a giant jigsaw together.
“But we have achieved a good mix of established names, which will be moving from Castle Market, and new businesses that are keen to make their mark in the city centre.”
About 70% of the 195 stalls will be relocating from Castle. The emphasis will be on fresh food and local produce. There will be 12 cafes.
