SHOULDER pads and tacky outfits will brighten up a Sheffield opticians as it celebrates all things 80s.
Specsavers, Pinstone Street, in the city centre, is celebrating its 25th birthday by transporting customers back in time on Saturday.
The store, which opened in 1987, will be raising money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital with a bake sale and a raffle with prizes including designer spectacles, retro sweets and accessories.
All private eye examinations booked for Saturday will be charged just £10, the same price as they were on the branch’s first day in business in 1987.
Staff will be dressed as iconic stars from the era.
Susan Wilford, Specsavers store director, said: ‘We’ve had a fabulous quarter of a century on Pinstone Street and want to celebrate with our customers.”
