Two South Yorkshire businesses have taken advantage of competitive rates for smaller units to relocate to a Sheffield industrial estate.
JIC Refractory Products Ltd, a ceramic fibre and body soluble modules producer, have relocated their entire business from Sorby Street in Burngreave, and now occupy 3,000 sq ft at the rejuvenated Dore House Industrial Estate, while children’s play centre Forward For Kids have set up a new 5,500 sq ft base.
Meanwhile commercial property company Canmoor, which specialises in the office and industrial sectors, has undertaken a lease re-gear at Dore House via commercial property specialists Knight Frank, as well as overseeing a refurbishment programme of two units - 19b which is 6000 sq ft and 14b offering potential tenants new headquarters measuring 5000 sq ft.
Canmoor director Mark Braithwaite said: ‘Re-gearing a lease can help tenants reduce costs, potentially negotiate benefits and overall offers improved business flexibility making Dore House a much more attractive prospect, particularly in the current economic client.

Forward for Kids manager Nicky Copley said: “The children’s play and party centre is in a great location which offers us plenty of opportunities in terms of local housing and community use within a wide radius of the site.
“We want to offer a fun and exciting place where children can learn through play and keep physically active whilst adults can relax in our cafe area. A setting like this gives us a very good catchment area.”
Dore House was originally established in the 1970s and underwent a significant renovation and rebranding in 2007.
This breathed new life into the properties and making it a highly desirable centre of commerce for Small to Medium enterprises (SMEs).

“However, we will start to see that availability diminish as fewer units are on the market.
