Ventana House revealed as venue for Sky jobs boost

Sky this week unveiled plans to move into Ventana House at Sheffield Digital Campus.

They will take 23,577 sq ft in the building, half the size of a football pitch,

The announcement that the entertainment and communications giant would create 500 jobs in the city was made at the end of January, but the exact location has been kept under wraps until now.

Ann Allen, Business Investment Manager at Creativesheffield, said: “Sky is a great name to be moving into Sheffield’s Digital Campus and will really complement the other creative, digital and new media companies who already operate there.

“The brand will also help to elevate the profile of the campus to attract further investment to the city. Sky has made a significant investment in Sheffield - which is fantastic news.”

This news comes as Sky also unveils the recently appointed head of the Sheffield site,

Customer Operations Manager, Rob Sargent. Rob, who has lived in Sheffield for 15 years and was previously working for Vodafone, is looking forward to getting started in his new role.

He said: “As a local I’m very excited to have been appointed for this role and can’t wait to get into the new Sky offices at Ventana House and start work. Sheffield is a great city with loads of talented people who we are keen to employ.”

Coun Paul Scriven, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said: “Private sector growth is key to Sheffield’s economic future and it’s great to see the city’s digital sector continuing to blossom.

“This significant investment and the fantastic number of jobs that it will bring with it is a result of our hard work to attract major international players like Sky to Sheffield.”

Tim Botrill of Knight Frank acted on behalf of the landlord Sheffield Digital Campus Limited, with Ben Cullen of Cushman and Wakefield acting on behalf of Sky.
