Pub licensee Russell Peckett has set the fundraising bar high - and now he’s challenging others to match his efforts.
Russell, aged 51, runs The Porter Brook on Ecclesall Road, and has raised £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by completing bike rides alongside his wife, Janet.
The events took in a cycle from London to Paris, as well as a 24-hour static bike ride, and they also held an auction, darts contest, and cake sale.
Russell, a dad-of-two, got involved with the charity after family and friends were diagnosed with cancer.
“Besides knowing the money we raised will make lives affected by cancer that bit easier, the whole experience was amazing,” he said.
“People keep asking what we’re doing next and how they can get involved.”
