Charity calls for artists to submit work to Sheffield exhibition

Arts charity Ignite Imaginations are looking for plant and growing related artwork to be exhibited in Sheffield this spring.

The organisation is now managing the wall space at the Old Junior School in Sharrow and next month they are partnering with Grow Sheffield to launch a new exhibition on the theme of growing called, Plant on the Wall.

Luisa Golob, of Ignite Imaginations, said: “We would like to show a variety of 2D art works related to plants and food growing.

“This could include drawings, paintings or photographs of individual plants, pictures of a garden or allotment, art objects made of plant material, such as willow, dried or pressed flowers or leaves, or any medium at all so long as the exhibit can be hung on the wall.”

The organisation is asking artists to submit their artwork by midday on February 2.

Submissions should include a completed artist agreement form and three photos of the work, no larger than 1MB.

The exhibition will open on February 6 and remain until April. Exhibitors are able to sell work, with 20 per cent of sales going to support free family events in Sharrow.
