Chippings laid on race route path

Chippings are to be laid along the route of the new Sheffield Half Marathon after concerns over mud were raised by a runner.

Michael Shuker contacted Sheffield Council to point out that the footpath next to Ringinglow Road was a ‘mudbath’ which meant training runners had to use the road instead.

Cabinet member Coun Isobel Bowler said chippings should be put down soon.
