Christmas shoppers urged to keep lid on festive finances

People in Sheffield are being urged to keep their finances under control over the Christmas period.

Jillian Thomas, who runs Future Life Wealth Management in Renishaw, said with the average person spending more than £500 on presents, it is important to budget properly around Christmas.

She said: “It is so easy to get carried away when rushing around the stores, or clicking on line, to buy on impulse and spend more than you planned to. The best thing is to work out how much you are going to spend on each person and stick to it.”

Her other tips include suggesting a spending limit for presents.
