City estate talent show

FORGET X Factor - talented residents on a Sheffield housing estate won’t need help from Simon Cowell to showcase their singing talents.

As part of an afternoon of celebrations in Shiregreen on Saturday, August 20, people in Shiregreen are being invited to hit the high notes on a community music stage.

They are being asked to perform as part of the ‘Let’s celebrate Shiregreen day – an event which starts at 1pm and is set to run all afternoon, with the music stage on Beck Primary School field.

Colleen Eccles, of estate landlord, Sanctuary housing, said: “If you’re a secret Susan Boyle or a budding Jai MacDowall who would like to share your talent – get in touch now.

“This is one small, fun way that we are encouraging the vibrant Shiregreen community to share what they are good at with others.”

Residents wishing to show off their talents are urged to call 0800 7814725, and mention the Neighbourhood Challenge.
