City garden show begins to take root

Preparations are being made for Sheffield’s version of the Chelsea Flower Show, at the Botanical Gardens on June 7 and 8.

Some of the country’s top horticulturists and designers are expected to be showcased at the event, which organisers believe will attract up to 10,000 visitors, and is backed by the council Garden designer Phil Hirst, who took top prizes at last year’s Royal Horticultural Society’s Tatton Park Flower Show, will be among those showing their skills.
