Staff from Sheffield cleaning firm Crystal Clean are offering their services for free to the Cathedral Archer Project.
They are cleaning the centre for the city’s homeless on Campo Lane free of charge and are volunteering to serve breakfasts to those without a roof over their head.
Hayley Gillbard, managing director of Crystal Clean, said: “Crystal Clean’s employees were all very keen for us to help out the Archer Project.
“A few of them have even experienced homelessness themselves, so this is a cause close to all of us at Crystal Clean, and we’re looking forward to assisting the project in any way we can.”
The Archer Project sees between 60 and 70 people a day, who call in for a free breakfast and to use washing and bathing facilities.
They are also offered support to get their lives back on track.
Tim Renshaw, the Catherdral Archer Project’s chief executive officer, said: ‘Breakfast is an essential lifeline for people, and can mean the difference between surviving and moving towards a stable life.
“It allows us the chance to engage with those on the street and is often the first step towards people changing their lives.”
