A revamp is in the pipeline for one of Sheffield’s top bars as it approaches its 20th anniversary.
Part of the passageway and courtyard at Menzels, off Ecclesall Road, is due to be covered to provide protection from the elements. Details have been submitted to the council.
The venue is owned by Tony Dungworth, who was one of the purchasers when it was sold by the late Michael Menzel in February 2002.
Tony said Menzels “brought the cocktail revolution to Sheffield” and had since trained and sponsored young people who had made the Top 10 in several ‘World Class Bar Tender’ events in London.
Celebrations will be held next year to mark the 20th anniversary.
