Attacker faces jail for leaving man with brain damage

A man from Sheffield is facing a jail term after admitting punching a football fan, leaving him with brain injuries and a broken neck.

Josh Corker, aged 23, of White Lane, Chapeltown, attacked his 35-year-old victim - who still needs round-the-clock care - on Leopold Street in April 2012.

Corker admitted causing grievous bodily harm. He was bailed and will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on December 20.
