A new cross-party board has been set up by Rotherham Council in the wake of the Jay Report.
The improvement board will meet each month and report back to the council’s cabinet for an initial 12 months.
It will include the leaders of the Labour, UKIP and Conservative council groups, as well as other public sector figures from across the country.
The board will be chaired by former Doncaster Council chief executive Rob Vincent. Council leader Paul Lakin said: “We know public confidence is rightly shaken and we are determined to win it back by our actions.”
