A man is in hospital with ‘life changing’ facial injuries following an attack in Rotherham town centre, police have revealed.
The 35-year-old Rotherham man was attacked outside the SNAFU bar on Main Street at around 2.15am on Saturday.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said he suffered a serious head injury in the attack, which she described as ‘life-changing.’
A 43-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm over the weekend and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The police spokeswoman said: “Witnesses are being sought following an incident in Rotherham town centre which left a man with a serious head injury.
“An altercation occurred outside the SNAFU bar in Main Street at around 2.15am on Saturday.
“CCTV shows many people outside the bar when the incident happened and police believe there are a number of witnesses who have not yet spoken to police.
