A WOMAN was cautioned after police raided a house on Hartley Brook Avenue, Parson Cross, and found a small amount of cannabis.

In another raid on the same street police found six plants growing in the loft. A man is due at court.

Another six plants were found growing in a bedroom on Rolleston Road, Firth Park, for which another man is due before magistrates. Police found the drugs on Thursday.

Drink ban goes on

A BAN on drinking on the streets in Woodhouse, Sheffield, has been extended for three years. The Designated Public Place Order was imposed by Sheffield Council with the support of South Yorkshire Police in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour and drink-related incidents.

Tumble dryer fire

A WOMAN escaped from her home unharmed after a tumble dryer caught fire while she was in the cellar with the machine. An electrical fault was to blame for the blaze at 9.30pm on Thursday on Cobnar Road in Woodseats.

Three shops fail

POLICE in Sheffield visited 20 shops in Burngreave, Brightside, Shiregreen, Firth Park and Southey wards looking for traders selling to underage customers. Three failed the test and were issued with £80 fixed penalty notices.

Tyres set ablaze

TYRES and rubbish were set alight in an arson attack on Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn, Sheffield, on Thursday night. Firefighters extinguished the flames at 8.45pm.

Allotment arson

AN ALLOTMENT shed was destroyed by fire on Outgang Lane, Maltby, Rotherham. The arson attack was reported to firefighters at 8.55pm on Thursday.

Wheelie bin blazes

FIREFIGHTERS in Sheffield were called to wheelie bins alight on Gower Street, Pitsmoor and Bowden Wood Avenue, Manor. Both were reported on Thursday night.

House broken into

A HOUSE on Bocking Lane, Beauchief, Sheffield, was broken into last week when a window was left unlocked. Police are investigating.
