THREE men were arrested and released on police bail pending inquiries into the stabbing of a 21-year-old man at the junction of Cambridge Street and Division Street in Sheffield city centre at around 4.20am on Monday.

A security guard from the nearby Spar convenience store held his hand over a wound to the victim’s neck to stop him bleeding to death. The man was later ‘serious but stable’ in the Northern General Hospital.

Road death inquest

AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a 21-year-old Chapeltown man killed in a three-car collision in Nottinghamshire.

Kyle Hutchinson was driving a Suzuki Jimny when it was involved in a crash with two other cars on the A614 Blyth Road in Serlby on June 22.

The hearing at Nottingham Coroner’s Court and adjourned.

Real ale festival date

SHEFFIELD’S 38th annual Steel City Beer and Cider Festival will be held at Ponds Forge from October 3 to 6.

It moved indoors last year after a spell under canvas at Cemetery Park, off Cemetery Road.
