Photographer hit in face with piece of wood and robbed in Sheffield

Callous robbers hit a man with a piece of wood before stealing his camera equipment in Norfolk Park.

A 24-year-old man was taking photographs in the area at around 8pm on Monday, when he was pulled to the ground from behind and assaulted by two men.

The men stole his camera and a bag containing other camera equipment, before they fled the scene.

The stolen items are a black Nikon D610 camera, serial number 6040820, and black Nikon lens, serial number 924459. Both items have the barcode 03097.

Also taken was a Nikon AF-S 14 - 24mm F2.8 Auto lens, serial number 407855 and barcode 01438 and a Nikon SB - 910 Speedlight compact flash, serial number 2353849 and barcode 02971.

Detective Constable Wayne Gunn said: “This was a nasty attack by two cowardly, selfish men and I would urge anyone who suspects they may have been offered any of the stolen items for sale, or believe they may have information regarding this crime, to please call police on 101.”

The men are white, skinny and aged in their late teens to early 20s. One was 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a baseball cap and dark clothing. The second had short, shaved fair hair.
