Police appeal following armed shop robbery

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a Sheffield supermarket.

The incident took place at the Co-op store on Barber Road, Commonside, at around 10.05pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman said a man entered the store and threatened staff with what is believed to have been a large knife while asking for money.

A sum of money was taken during the incident.

No-one is believed to have been injured.

The man is said to have fled the scene in the direction of Roebuck Road.

He is described as a white man around 6ft tall.
