Police hunt thief who stole cash from woman at Sheffield train station

Police are hunting a man who stole £100 from a woman seconds after she dropped the cash at Sheffield train station.

The woman had just opened her purse to use a change machine when the notes fell onto the ground at 1.30pm on Saturday, December 27.

Investigating officer PC Mark Mason said: “Before she was able to pick up the money a man quickly took it and made off towards the taxi rank.”

The thief was of mixed race, around 6ft tall and was wearing a checked shirt, jumper and blue jeans.
