Police probe into series of car break-ins on same night

Police are investigating a spate of car break-ins in the same area.

The vehicles were all broken into overnight between Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, after being left parked off Piccadilly Road, Chesterfield.

A Vauxhall Astra, a Lexus and a Mazda 2 parked on Wain Avenue, and a Renault Clio on Camlough Walk, were targeted.

Two sat navs and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from the vehicles.

Motorists are being urged to step up their security.

A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “Residents are also being reminded to make sure cars are secure and to remove any valuables from their vehicles.”
