Police seek man over racial abuse on train travelling through South Yorkshire

Police want to trace a man who hurled racial abuse at a passenger on a train travelling through South Yorkshire.

British Transport Police said his victim boarded a train at Sheffield at 9.15pm on Saturday, 18 April and was threatened with violence.

PC Emma Willamson said: “The victim was left understandably scared for her safety by this frightening hate crime.”

The man police want to trace is white, around 50 years old, 6ft tall, of a bulky build with short, grey hair.

He was wearing grey, shiny trousers and a grey, long-sleeved shirt.
