Sex assault on woman, 18, in Sheffield park

Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in a Sheffield park.

The woman was attacked by a man in Endcliffe Park at around 4am yesterday.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the area of Clarkehouse Road, Botanical Gardens, Endcliffe Vale Road and Endcliffe Park between 3am and 5am on Saturday.

The suspect is described as white, slim, and in his early to mid 20s. He wore dark clothing, had short, strawberry blond or light brown hair and was around 5ft 8ins tall.

Detective Inspector Vicky Short, from South Yorkshire Police, said: “This appears to be at isolated incident and we are working hard to find the man responsible.”
