Two arrested over Sheffield hit-and-run that left cyclist seriously injured

Two people have been arrested after a cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Sheffield.

The two men, aged 23 and 18, have been arrested in connection with an incident on Hathersage Road on Wednesday at around 6.40pm.

A bike was in collision with a black car at the junction with Long Line, with the car reportedly failing to stop after the accident.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, remained in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries yesterday.

Police are now trying to trace a black Honda Civic Type R that is believed to have tinted rear windows and rear windscreen, twin exhausts on the driver’s side and a roof spoiler.

The car may have damage to the passenger side wing mirror and headlight.

A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident.
