Unregistered Sheffield man fined over £3,000 for whitening patients teeth

An unregistered Sheffield man has been fined more than £3,000 for illegally whitening a patient’s teeth

Nathan Holliday pleaded guilty to unlawfully practising dentistry, namely tooth whitening, at Neat Teeth, Ecclesall Road, on December 19 2013 at a recent hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

The procedure caused an injury to the patient.

Holliday also pleaded guilty to unlawfully holding himself out as being prepared to practise dentistry, namely tooth whitening, at Neat Teeth on March 31 this year.

He was fined £3,350 and ordered to pay the General Dental Council’s legal costs of £2,743.18 and a £120 victim surcharge.

Tooth whitening can only be carried out by registered professionals.
