Dazzling jazz band Four Corners and cult rockers allusinlove heading for Sheffield gigs

Two pretty different bands are playing in Sheffield next week.

Jazz trumpet player, composer and producer Byron Wallen is the guest of Sheffield Jazz with his his dazzlin g band, Four Corners .

Guitarist Rob Luft  made a great impression in his s pring 2018 visit to Sheffield Jazz.

Byron Wallen is widely recognised as a seminal figure in world jazz , and he has played alongside legendary musicians such as Andrew Hill, George Benson, Jack DeJohnette and King Sunny Ade.

He is also one of the creators of the Game of Thrones' series soundtrack.

Byron Wallen’s Four Corners play at  Crookes Social Club, Mulehouse Road, on  Friday, February 1 at  8pm.

Meanwhile, Cult Leeds band allusinlove, who have been known by several names until now, are headlining at Café Totem in Furnival  Gate,Sheffield on Wednesday,  February 6.  

Rock anthem  All Good People  is the first taste of allusinlove’s EP, produced by the legendary Catherine Marks (Foals, The Killers, Wolf Alice) and Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Queens Of The Stone Age).

The single is accompanied by an explosive video directed by Michael Holyk, showing allusinlove in their absolute element.

The band say: “ All Good People is all about positivity, embracing the body of your lover and being open about it. The main message is one of unity and it’s all set over a soaring psychedelic 12- bar blues melody. Dig in!”
