A barren run of form has heralded just one win in six games after an initially positive response from Atiba Lyons’ side following defeat in the BBL Trophy final last month.

That run has included defeats to Bristol and the Wolves and has left Sheffield eighth in the BBL Championship standings going into the final four fixtures of the regular season.

However, with plenty of points to play for and with several of the teams immediately above them due to face-off in the coming fortnight, a strong finish to the season could still see Sharks climb the table as they look to gather some vital momentum heading into the Play-Offs.

Tuesday night’s road defeat to Bristol Flyers saw Sharks miss out on confirmation of a spot and came thanks to a stunning late run from the home side. The Flyers finished with a 9-0 run having earlier been 15 points down on the visitors, who themselves had put together a 14-0 burst to take the lead.

A win over the Wolves on Friday night would clinch a crucial season head-to-head with the Wolves and provide Sheffield with fresh impetus heading into the final few BBL Championship fixtures.
