Sharks fell 79-77 to Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday.

The result left Sharks fourth in the BBL standings, six points behind Worcester Wolves in third, with two games in hand.

Sharks thought they had forced overtime when Jerrold Brooks hit a game-tying three-pointer with four seconds remaining.

But the Phoenix weren’t finished and Quincy Taylor was able to score as time expired to give the Phoenix a dramatic 79-77 victory.

“It’s massive, especially after the disappointment we had in Bristol,” said Phoenix captain, David Aliu. “Our point guard, Quincy, did a great job. He’s like lightning and was able to get full court to score a lay-up.”

Captain Mike Tuck picked up MVP for Sharks, contributing 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a textbook defensive display.

Jerrold Brooks put in another solid performance for Sharks, putting up 25 points, three rebounds and two assists, outscoring his opposite number Akeem Ellis in an excellent battle between the two guards.
