Doncaster 11-year-old makes semi-finals of teen girl modelling contest

A Doncaster schoolgirl is heading for the top after reaching the semi-finals of a modelling contest for youngsters.

Zara Mawer, 11, has been selected to represent our town in the finals of Little Miss Teen GB.

Zara, a pupil at Lakeside's XP School, has won a place in the semi-final of the contest after beating off competition from across Great Britain to clinch her place.

The singer, dancer and model loves trying new things and meeting new people.

Her mum Rachel said: "Zara has raised money with her dance school for children with terminal illnesses and is always ready to help others. She is a blessing to us."

She is a pupil at Askern based school Dance Craze.

Zara said: "I am so excited to have made it to the semi final, it is a great achievement!"

Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in a spectacular grand final. The winner of Little Miss Teen Great Britain will walk away with some incredible prizes – including £250.

The grand final will be held in 2016 at The Globe in Blackpool. The weekend is set to be full of fun, with the finalists enjoying a Beauty Queen Challenge Day, a pyjama diva party and much more.

She said: "Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and win the Little Miss Teen Great Britain crown."
