The band picked up their sixth Brit award after scooping the Best British Video award at the 2015 ceremony for You & I.

The group have won four other Brits previously - picking up Best British Single in 2012 for That’s What Makes You Beautiful and best video in 2014 for Best Song Ever. Tonight's win made it a hat-trick of victories in the best video category.

They have also won two Brits Global Success prizes.

They were also up for the Best British Group award against Blur, Years and Years and Foals but Coldplay proved victorious.

One Direction beat off Adele, Calvin Harris & Disciples, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Little Mix, Naughty Boy ft Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin, Sam Smith and Years and Years in the video category.
