Drug dealer who ran plot to rob actor's Range Rover stashed heroin in Kinder Eggs

Luke Blakemore, aged 22, was among 10 people linked to a street gang called the ‘Pitsmoor Shotta Boys’ sentenced for numerous offences involving drugs and violence at Sheffield Crown Court.

The former Army recruit was visibly shocked as his sentence was passed and was in tears while five of his associates were also jailed.

On-the-run criminal Sean Chamberlain - who has been taunting police on Facebook about their efforts to find him - was sentenced to four years for robbery and will face a further sentence for not attending court after he is arrested.

Luke Blakemore was the instigator of a plot to rob actor Luke Pendlebury of his car last September after telling the victim he owed him £5,000.

Blakemore and co-defendants Ryan Taylor, Joshua Roddis and Sean Chamberlain intimidated Mr Pendlebury into handing over his £17,000 Range Rover, before a group of people led by John Gilliver later arrived at Mr Pendlebury’s house.

Gilliver, who is originally from Sheffield, threatened to ‘slice up’ the victim and his children unless he told police his car had not been stolen.

The court heard drugs including heroin and crack cocaine had been found in the Blakemore brothers’ home in January 2015 - some of it hidden inside Kinder Eggs and a dog food bag.

Luke Blakemore was later found to have hidden cocaine in a wheelie bin.

Gilliver, his wife Stephanie Oldfield, Roddis and co-defendants Lewis Roberts and Lyndon Atkinson were also involved in serious violence at the Montague pub in Mexborough in February 2015. Atkinson pinned a man to a pool table before Gilliver hit the victim a number of times with a bottle, while his wife Oldfield threw pool balls at the man.

Oldfield then punched a woman repeatedly in the face outside the pub, Gilliver tried to hit someone with a golf club and Roberts broke a window.

An order was placed on the defendants - with the exception of Roberts - preventing them associating with each other in public places for three years due to their involvement in anti-social behaviour around the Schofield Street area of Mexborough, where several of them live.

Luke Blakemore, of Laburnum Road, Mexborough, was sentenced to 13-and-half years for drug dealing and robbery offences.

Chad Hatton, 19, who is already in jail for a separate offence, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years for drug dealing. Gilliver, 27, of Schofield Street, was sentenced to three years and eight months for violent disorder and robbery.

Roddis, of Schofield Street, got three-and-a-half years for robbery, violent disorder and possession of cannabis. Ryan Taylor, 23, of Schofield Street, got two-and-half-years for robbery. Chamberlain, 30, of Cumberland Way, Bolton-on-Dearne, got four years for robbery.

The others received suspended sentences.
