Sheffield College staff prepare for A-level results day - August 15

COLLEGE staff are preparing for one of their busiest days of the year – as hundreds of Sheffield students collect their A-level results.

Staff at The Sheffield College will be giving out the largest number of results in one go in the city – to a total of 209 A-level students at Hillsborough College on Thursday, August 15.

The students, plus another 287 from Norton and Peaks College means The Sheffield College is the biggest provider of A-levels in the city.

Heather Smith, Hillsborough College principal, said: “Results day is the culmination of a great deal of hard work on both sides.”

The Sheffield College’s overall A-level success rate last year was its highest on record, with 97.2 per cent of exams passed for youngsted aged 16 to 18.

Last year 197 out of 260 A-level students from Hillsborough College applied to university. Numbers are expected to be similar this year.
