A scheme to extend the Norfolk Park student village could be approved next Tuesday, despite nearby residents’ concerns over the prospect of more students, traffic implications and the loss of trees.
Already the 70s-built village can accommodate up to 700 students. Now two four-storey blocks for 40 students off Norfolk Park Road could be added.
The proposed number of students has been reduced from 72, but concerns remain among some people living nearby.
Already the council is dealing with complaints about noise and other anti-social behaviour, councillors are being told.
Overall, though, council permission is recommended for the expansion.
